everytime max smiled in the new episode! a total of seven times (and yes there is a cut scene between the last one and second to last one)
what i’d like to point out is that max pretty much NEVER smiles in any episode – and if he does, it’s only once AND/OR it’s because he’s laughing cruelly at someone (while i love him, he is a little bully). in this episode, though, the times he’s seen smiling is when he’s either talking to or indirectly (or directly, as seen with space kid) praising another camper.
this is after the parent’s day episode too – as confirmed by an offhanded comment max made by referencing it in this episode – so this really goes to show how much it really affected him (and it also confirms the camp is still open despite campbell being arrested)
anyways, i love this subtle character development – and max smiling
